Skyfold® Classic™ is a custom manufactured, completely automatic, rigid, flat and retractable acoustic wall partitioning system.
This system is radically different from traditional operable wall systems. Skyfold® Classic™ is fully automated. A simple turnkey operation retracts the partition quietly and effortlessly into the ceiling. Its automated design eliminates the need for manual labor to operate the walls and ensures that the acoustic rating of the wall is maintained as originally intended.
Skyfold® Classic™ has exceptional acoustical performance with an STC rating of 51, while remaining lightweight. At approximately 7 1/2 to 8 lbs per square foot compared to traditional operable wall partitions with the same STC rating weighing 10 to 12 lbs per square foot, Skyfold® Classic™ contributes to substantial savings in structural steel cost.
Skyfold® Classic™ does not require any floor or wall tracks. The top and bottom seals rest against the floor and acoustic barrier respectively, when the wall is fully deployed. The vertical seals are located internally and activate automatically against the fixed walls once Skyfold® Classic™ is fully extended “closed”. The side seals automatically retract before the wall is raised. This ensures that the seals never rub against the fixed walls and leaves no marks. These automated seals are pliable and allow for the proper acoustic sealing against most surfaces.
Because Skyfold® Classic™ is fully automated, and is never manipulated manually, the seals do not degrade as is common with traditional operable walls. This ensures that your Skyfold® Classic™ wall system will function acoustically as intended over its service life.
